Position Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in HVAC to join our team. In this role, you will focus on mechanical design for small to medium-sized commercial projects, including restaurants, retail spaces, and commercial developments. Reporting directly to a Senior Engineer, you will blend technical execution with cross-discipline coordination, working within close-knit project teams to deliver efficient mechanical systems from concept through construction documents.

Key Responsibilities

• HVAC Design & Engineering: Perform HVAC system layouts, load calculations, duct/piping sizing, and equipment selection.
• Document Preparation: Develop detailed engineering calculations, technical drawings, and construction specifications.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and internal design teams to meet project deadlines and budget constraints without sacrificing quality.
• Project Management Assistance: Support day-to-day project workflows, team communication, and limited project management duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Required:
• • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering (commercial focus preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD (2010 or newer) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated proficiency in HVAC calculations and system design fundamentals
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
• Preferred:
• • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) / Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification
  • Proficiency in Revit / BIM modeling
  • Active pursuit of Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
