Job Summary: The Plumbing Helper supports the plumbing team by assisting with basic tasks under the supervision of the Foreman. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and clean job site, delivering materials and tools, and helping with general labor. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals interested in learning the plumbing trade. While not enrolled in a formal apprenticeship program, the Plumbing Helper role can serve as a stepping stone toward future advancement.
Key Responsibilities: - Assist with basic plumbing tasks and installations.
- Transport and organize materials, tools, and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies.
- Learn from experienced plumbers on the job.
Minimum Requirements: - High school diploma or GED.
- 0-1 years of relevant experience.
- Strong willingness to learn and contribute to a team.
- Reliable transportation.
Physical Demands: - Regularly lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally more with assistance.
- Prolonged standing and walking on various surfaces.
- Frequent ladder use and work at heights.
- Regular bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
- Frequent use of hands for tools and basic tasks.
- Good vision and hearing required; use of PPE, including safety glasses and hearing protection, is mandatory.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Safety Requirements: - Comply with OSHA safety guidelines and wear PPE as needed.
- Report hazards and follow safe work practices.
Work Environment: - Indoors and outdoors in various settings, exposed to extreme weather, confined spaces, and high elevations.
- Protective equipment is required in noisy, dusty, or hazardous environments.
- Work may involve tight spaces and handling heavy tools.
- Overtime, weekend, and emergency work may be required.
